Sweetness.

Thursdays are get-the-house-ready-for-the-parents days. My parents usually come over to stay the night and the hustle and bustle before they do reminds me of a chicken with its head cut off.

Mom and Dad are both allergic to cats and we have a very fluffy, hang out everywhere and anywhere kinda cat so I try to make the house as allergy-free as possible. This means vacuuming and dusting and sweeping and removing cat hair from the cat's fave spots. Although getting the house ready sucks it is done out of love.

So, as I sit working thinking about what I should try to tackle first, Luke asks, "Hey, Mom, aren't you supposed to clean before Papi and Grammma come over?" He obviously knows the house is still a mess. My answer is, "Yes". And then he says, "Okay. I will help you clean then". My heart warms me and a smile grows across my face. What a lovely gesture from my little guy. Boys aren't completely made from snips and snails and puppy dog tails. They have some sugar in that mix.
