Feelin' Groovy Friday

Don't you love those days that start off on the right foot? You are filled with joy and want others to have a little bit of it too.

Friends are wonderful things to have because they give you perspective and also an outlet to vent, cry, laugh and just exist safely.

Besides a wonderful morning breakfast with two very good friends here are some other things making me feel groovy:

Benjamin Franklin's daily schedule I like the questions he asks himself both in the morning and in the evening.

Valentine Heart Barrettes I want to make some for my daughter and for me!

This scene from Pushing Daisies makes my heart smile every time I watch it.

Tea ~ Any kind really, but Tazo's Decaf Chai has been in my cup every morning this week.

What's making you feel groovy today?

I love songs with whistling... and about love.

Alabama, Arkansas, I do love my Ma & Pa
Not the way that I do love you

Holy roly, me, oh my, you’re the apple of my eye
Girl, I’ve never loved one like you

Man, oh man, you’re my best friend, I scream it to the nothingness
There ain’t nothin’ that I need

Well, hot & heavy, pumpkin pie, chocolate candy, Jesus Christ
There ain’t nothin’ please me more than you

Chorus:
Ahh, Home
Let me come Home
Home is wherever I’m with you
(2x)
La la la la, take me Home
Baby, I’m coming Home

I’ll follow you into the park, through the jungle, through the dark
Girl, I’ve never loved one like you

Moats & boats & waterfalls, alley ways & pay phone calls
I’ve been everywhere with you

That’s true

We laugh until we think we’ll die, barefoot on a summer night
Nothin’ new is sweeter than with you

And in the sticks we’re running free like it’s only you and me
Geez, you’re something to see.

Chorus

“Jade?”
“Alexander?”
“Do you remember that day you fell out of my window?”
“I sure do, you came jumping out after me.”
“Well, you fell on the concrete and nearly broke your ass and you were bleeding all over the place and I rushed you off to the hospital. Do you remember that?”
“Yes, I do.”
“Well, there’s something I never told you about that night.”
“What didn’t you tell me?”
“While you were sitting in the backseat smoking a cigarette you thought was going to be your last, I was falling deep, deeply in love with you and I never told you ‘til just now.”
“Now I know.”

Ahh, Home
Let me come Home
Home is whenever I’m with you
Ahh, Home
Let me come Home
Home is when I’m alone with you

Home
Let me come Home
Home is wherever I’m with you

Ahh, Home
Yes, I am Home
Home is when I’m alone with you.

Alabama, Arkansas, I do love my Ma & Pa
Moats & boats & waterfalls & pay phone calls

Ahh, Home
Let me come Home
Home is wherever I’m with you
Ahh, Home
Let me come Home
Home is when I’m alone with you

Meatless Monday on Tuesday

We indulged in Veggie Lasagna (recipe found here, but altered a wee bit by adding tomatoes and spinach), fruit salad (Yummy, Yummy! - sorry, couldn't resist) and buttered Italian bread for dinner. Breakfast and Lunch were less exciting but full of fruit and grains as well.

I'm an adventurer looking for treasure

Happy New Year! Did you get to ring in the New Year exactly how you wanted? I ended up falling asleep 10 minutes before 2011. A full week had been had and I guess it had its toll on me. The busy schedule was well worth it though! We ventured north for vacation. And, here's a little hint to show you how far north we went:

Did you guess the Space Needle? If so, you are right!! What a wonderful road adventure we took!! Seattle made my heart happy. The last time we visited was 8 years ago and I don't think it has changed all that much since. Its charm and magic still captivated me. The kids loved roaming all around town and even my parents had a blast "quacking" it up on the Duck Tour. And we were spoiled with sun on our 2nd day. How awesome was that??!

Before Seattle we hit a few other spots like Medford, Oregon and Porland and Vancouver, Washington. We got soaked in Portland but tried to make the best of it by exploring Powell's abso-freakin-amazing Bookstore. We could have stayed in there all day.

The trip was definitely what I needed before heading into this new year. I'll have to explore more with you in future entries. Right now I'm letting all the wonderment and newfound excitement soak in. Happy days are ahead! And I plan on Paul Coelho's quote, "A philosophy of life: I'm an adventurer, looking for treasure” to be my mantra for the year. Whatever comes to me shall be explored and examined and I will only look for the treasure that each day holds instead of focusing on some of the muck and dirt I may have to dig through to find it.
