Have you ever?

Have you ever taken a drive and looked up to the landscape on your left and had your breath taken away? Have you ever bitten into the most perfect slice of pizza, pie, cupcake or (insert your own divine dish here) and felt you were going to melt from pure deliciousness? Have you ever looked into the eyes of your lover and swear you saw something so beautiful, safe, loving and indescribable that you almost cried?

Have you ever...?

It's Earth Day, Yo!

Happy Earth Day! I haven't done much today except clean and work. Not exactly super exciting things to do on Earth Day, but I think I'm doing my part by not hardly doing anything. At least I'm not impacting the Earth in a negative way and I am emitting happy, positive vibes out into the world. I think the Earth can feel it.

Whatever you do today, I hope you find some time to whisper a little "thank you" to Mother Earth. I know she's listening.

I want to read this book

I'm inspired often. And this world is full of so many amazing women and I'm glad they choose to share the bits and pieces of their wisdom with us all. I'm ready for Karen Maezen Miller's newest book, Hand Wash Cold. It sounds just like the kinda read I need.

Today

TODAY

I
Do not
Want to step so quickly
Over a beautiful line on God's palm
As I move through the earth's
Marketplace
Today.

I do not want to touch any object in this world
Without my eyes testifying to the truth
That everything is
My Beloved.

Something has happened
To my understanding of existence
That now makes my heart always full of wonder
And kindness.

I do not
Want to step so quickly
Over this sacred place on God's body
That is right beneath your
Own foot

As I
Dance with
Precious life
Today.

I can't help but reflect on the beauty that surrounds me. It's hard to take notice of every little beautiful thing on a daily basis, but those days, like TODAY, when you do take notice you can't help but be amazed and in awe. Springtime seems to bring so many colors to light. And this afternoon while I drove down the hill to get the kids from the grandparent's house I was struck with the gorgeous view of magnificent, too white clouds hanging up against a too blue sky. My heart skipped a beat and my eyes danced. I felt so light and happy that I could have floated right on up to the heavens if I wasn't grasping the steering wheel so tightly.
